Biodiesel is
a clean burning alternative fuel produced from entirely renewable
sources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be mixed
at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend.
It can be used in compression ignition (diesel) engines with
no major modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable,
nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.
• It
is good for the atmosphere, having a carbon neutral lifecycle
from production through consumption.
• It
is around the same price and sometimes cheaper than
conventional diesel.
• It
has about the same net power output as conventional petroleum
diesel.
• Processed
from domestic sources, it helps secure America's energy independence
and creates jobs here at home. For more information on biodiesel,
